sep 3, 1783 - Treaty of Paris

Description:

British and American diplomats meet in Paris to negotiate a Treaty to bring an end to the Revolution.

Among the terms, Britain agreed to:
Recognize the United States' independence
Cede land West of the Missipi to the US
Return any property (slaves included) they took from the colonists during the war
Grant US fishing rights over the coast of Canada

For their part, the US made a few concessions, including promising to attempt to end the persecution of colonists that had remained loyal to Britan (Loyalists).
