sep 14, 1930 - 1930 Elections: rise in electoral results for Nazis
(18%)
Description:
the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) remained the largest party in the Reichstag, winning 143 of the 577 seats so they had 24% which was a drop from the elections pre-great depression
while the Nazi Party (NSDAP) dramatically increased its number of seats from 12 to 107
Gaining 18% of the vote --> making them the second largest after SPD
The Communists also increased their parliamentary representation, gaining 23 seats and becoming the third-largest party in the Reichstag. they got 13%
This shows how quickly the nation became radicalised against moderates as they thought the Weimar system did not work due to the economic crises (they blamed similarly to the Nazis the moderates for signing the treaty of Versailles and then the Dawes plan
