+Many continued to work in the 50s, which was necessary as after the war there were fewer men
-1950s-60s, women were payed worse
+70s, there were more opportunities in business
+There was a continued increase in the proportion of women in the workplace
+1980 legislation protected women's rights in the workplace
-Women had lower pay across the whole period

Family:
+More access to contraception which led to a reduction in birth-rate
+1976, abortion was liberalised
+It became easier to divorce which led to an increase in divorce rates
+1977, there were equal marriage rates

Education:
+More women were at university
-This was only a gradual increase
-Women only had equal basis in higher education by the 1980s
