On March 5th, 1946, Winston Churchill, previous prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1940-1945, and again from 1951-1956. His speech was about the "iron curtain" or the divide that was starting to go through Europe. He talked about how there needed to be unity, and strength in Anglo-American ties to ward off the Soviet Union threat of a take over.
