Description:

Islamist fighters infiltrate Fallujah and Ramadi while ISIS seizes control of Iraq's city of Mosul and other key towns. Tens of thousands are forced to flee the atrocities. Kurdish forces with help from Iranian and US forces work together to repel the invasions.

To combat the attacks, a broad government is formed including Shia, Sunni, and Kurdish Iraqis. Kurdistan agrees to put independence discussion on hold. An agreement is signed between Iraqi and Kurdish government to share Iraq's oil and military resources hoping to unite the country to expel ISIS in the coming years.
