Description:
The US invasion quickly topples Saddam's regime, forcing him into hiding before being captured by the end of the year. Iraqi civilians and US soldiers will pull down a statue of Saddam in Baghdad shortly after (pictured).The Iraqi Army is disbanded and, as a result, many of these well-armed men are sent into the streets to later form insurgencies against US occupation.
