On the 4th of April, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King was assassianted in the Loarraine Motel in Memphis, Tennesee. His murdererKing's Assassination marked the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement's end. For one, it sparked uncertainty within the movement, wether to continue Kings legacy and hold on to the strategy of nonvioloence, or if that idea died with their leader. The movement had lost its most prominent and influential figure. Change in leadership sealed the deal on the movement's fate.
The main consequence of King's assassination would incarnate through riots that broke loose in more than a hundred cities all across the US.
