The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty signed on 28 June 1919. Although it didn't go into affect until January 10th, 1920. It ended the state of war between Germany and most of the Allied Powers. The treaty was important for contextualization of WWII because it was poorly designed and subjected Germany to the conditions that would allow the Nazi party to rise to power.Added to timeline:
