- Many Democrats were targeted during these investigations.
- A famous group, the Hollywood Ten, was blacklisted as communist sympathizers and could never work in Hollywood again.
- Interstate Highway System -
- The Interstate Highway System was created to help people travel quickly across the United States.
- It was started in 1956 under President Eisenhower.
- The highways made transportation easier for people, families, and businesses.
- It changed American society by making travel faster and helping the economy grow.
- The system also helped improve military movement and national defense.
