feb 27, 1933 - Reichstag Fire/Enabling Act
Description:
The Reichstag building, or main parliamentary building in germany, was set aflame by Van der Lubbe as an attempt to stage a communist coup. Many historians believe that it was a Nazi plot. In the end, hitler convinced the parliament that the Enabling act was necessary to be passed, which declared that in a state of emergency, a leader could act as a dictator and make decisions without parliament. That's how Hitler and his Nazi regime took control over Germany.
