The lowest geographical point on Earth's surface is known as the Mariana Trench, situated in the western Pacific Ocean.On 23rd January 1960, American explorer Don Walsh and Belgian engineer Jacques Piccard managed to reach the bottom of this trench, in a submersible craft called Trieste, and thus became the first humans to reach the deepest part of the planet.
