mar 12, 1941 - Iran aligns with Nazi Germany

Description:

While the official stance was one of neutrality, Iran held strong economic ties with Nazi Germany, such as 50% of Iran's trade being done between the two nations. Tensions within the state had grown significantly as Iranian Jews were being ostracized, and Nazi Germany began providing the country with books to propagate increased hate against the group.

On this day, the Jewish celebration of Purim took place. An Iranian employed by Germany radio called for revenge against the Jews for a massacre which took place during biblical times. He launched fiery broadcasts calling for violence against the Jews.
