This program was created directly to give education, jobs, counselling, and recreation for young people. This program gave students help in becoming high school, college, and graduate students. As a trade, these students worked part-time positions at their schools. For graduates or younger people who dropped out of school, the NYA gave part-time jobs like: working on highways, parks, and the grounds of public buildings.
