Johnny Depp sends out a New Year's wish of hope to all as 2020 comes to a close

Johnny Depp is bringing a rather tumultuous year that was 2020 to a close with a message of hope for his fans.

The 57-year-old actor took to Instagram on Thursday, sharing a photo of the preface of the 1939 novel The Time of Your Life by William Saroyan.

He also added his own message to his 9.1 million followers, asking them to find happiness in these troubling times.

'A New Year’s wish to all,' Depp began, just days after sending out another holiday message with a photo from his documentary Crock of Gold.

'Though the world is in mourning for better days, I hope all of you are able to find a moment tonight to smile and more importantly, to laugh and make others laugh, as much as possible,' he added.

'I know this may be difficult in the midst of these trying times, but I wish nothing but happiness and health to all,' Depp continued

'May you be surrounded in perfection. With all my love and respect, JD,' the Pirates of the Caribbean star concluded.

On the day after Christmas, Depp also sent out another hopeful message, which read, 'This year has been so hard for so many. Here’s to a better time ahead.'

'Happy Holidays, everyone! My love and respect to you all. Eternally, JD. X' his message concluded.
