jan 1, 1763 - Royal Proclamation
1763
Description:
The Royal Proclamation made 'peace' with the French by giving them a larger Quebec, but also assimilated them by not allowing French or Catholics into government, and getting rid of their civil law.
They also established the Proclamation Line, a place where no European settlement could be made across (a rule that was clearly broken later), in order to clear British-First Nations tensions.
