Description:

The battle began as General Robert E. Lee started marching up his army to Maryland to try and knock down the union. In response President Linchon sent the army of the Potomac to stop them. The 2 army's met in Sharpsburg Maryland in a large corn field. The battle moved back to a stone bridge in Antietam creek. The union soldiers had to storm the confederates position 3 times before capturing it. The battle was a statement and resulted and estimated caulity count of 22,717 on both sides.
