jan 24, 2189 - Teleportation Incident

Description:

"On January 24th, 2189, after teleportation experiments on Mars to try to teleport to Earth after the dust cleared up, which failed, many huge rogue asteroids from the asteroid belt were teleported above Mars in a mini-resonance cascade (kind of like the one that happened at Black Mesa over 100 years ago) and hurtled toward Mars at mach speeds. Before this apocalypse, humans developed a species-wide language that everybody understood. Gone were the days of language barriers. “Cori de Auri!!!!” is what many people on Mars that day were crying out in despair. In their language, “Cori de Auri” means run for your life. Many, many people died. Out of the 382 million remaining on Mars, only 24,000 are left to basically starve to death. Mars is very battered, and almost, if not all the bases were annihilated. Any evidence of civilization was gone. The 24,000 people had to work together to survive, and there’s no telling if the human species will go on any longer with this luck. First, there was a supervolcano eruption on Earth, then only around 40 years later Mars gets annihilated by asteroids. How can it get any worse?"
