Description:

After the Battle of Yamama, Caliph Abu Bakr ordered Zayd ibn Thabit (one of Prophet Muhammad’s scribes) to compile the Quran into one book.

This first compiled Quran was kept with Abu Bakr, then passed to Caliph Umar (r. 634–644 CE), and later given to Hafsa bint Umar (Umar’s daughter and one of Prophet Muhammad’s wives).

Even at this stage, there were very few copies and it was not yet widely distributed.
