jun 2, 1920 - The Smith-Fess Act
Description:
This act was also known as the Civilian Vocational Rehabilitation Act. The law established a federal program that helped Americans that had physical disabilities to find work. This was the first federally funded program to assist civilians with disabilities. Both the federal government and the states contributed equally financially to the program, and the funding could be used for vocational guidance, training, job placement, and occupational adjustment services (Indiana State Government).
