jan 1, 1895 - Yellow Kid Comic

Description:

In 1895, The New York Word published ‘The Yellow Kid”, which was made by Richard Outcault. In the series, we see a boy with a yellow shirt who is known as “the yellow kid”. This in particular is so important to the timeline because it was the first time the color Yellow was shown in the papers. This revolutionary beginning encouraged other comic artists to use more colors. It was the turning point for the color yellow in the papers! This strip unfortunately did end in 1898.
