Seen as major victory for UN forces. Landing of Americans in SK, took Seoul back and General Douglas MacArthur wanted to keep advancing in to NK --> to China didn't think about repercussions --> Mao Zedong "volunteer army" to fight and pushed them back to 38th parallel leading to 1953 Stalemate
- Mc Arthur was later fired for not obeying Truman and wanting to push forward in Korean war, to the extent of nuclear war
