feb 29, 1676 - Bacon’s Rebellion
Description:
A rebellion led by Nathaniel Bacon in Virginia involves both Black and White indentured servants and poor farmers protesting against the ruling class. Though Bacon’s Rebellion failed, it highlighted class divisions and fears of slave resistance. As a result, laws increasingly segregate White laborers from enslaved Africans, making slavery even more entrenched.
