After the events of Pearl Harbor, Franklin Roosevelt declared war on Japan. This would bring the US into the second World War. The US had been supplying the British for a while, but never officially joined the allies. This changed when the Japanese attacked. The US would rebuild its navy and soon destroy many of the Japanese carriers. This was only the beginning.
