Description:
John Brown was an abolitionist who, with his two sons, led an uprising. This uprising was an attack on pro-slavery residents and also to gather supplies. News of the raid enthused the North and outraged the white South. Brown was tried and convicted of treason. John Brown led to the Civil War because he raided pro-slavery residences which increased tensions between the North and the South, which eventually leads to the Civil War.
