dec 1, 1871 - Trade Unions legalised in Britan
Description:
Trade unions formed in Great Britain during the industrial revolution to protect mostly factory workers from risks in their workplace such as using dangerous machines, unhealthy working conditions, and excessive hours of work. Governments and employers tried to resist the idea but by 1850 unions had grown powerful enough the win better contracts and protection for their members. This had a political and social impact as now workers can band together to make fair rules.(Ref. 9)
