The DRV pushes into South Vietnam, eventually capturing the capital, Saigon. It is renamed Ho Chi Minh City in honor of the country's founder and late leader. The North and South are reunited to form one country. This signifies the end of the war. Vietnam remains one of the only communist countries today.
