jan 1, 1925 - 6.6: casuation technologyical innovations

Description:

During the Gilded age, the government created a system known as the patent system which allowed individuals who invented something to keep it for a couple of years. This system basically encountered individuals to take risk and invent somethings. During this time the number of inventions was a lot. A couple of most important inventions were telephone and telegraph which basically make the communications and the business transactions faster. The Railroads which were faster and made the transportations faster. During the Gilde age, there were many railroads were made all due to government subsides and homestead act which granted land for the railroads. Sometimes railroad companies would sell the land for the people too, so they made a lot of money. The railroads system at that time was corrupted and overcharged the poor farmers and the government also tried for regulating the railroads. The next important technology invention was the electricity. The electricity basically helped big businesses a lot since the workers could now work during the night shifts too, prior to the invention of electricity, the companies would shut off during the night time, because they could not work during night shifts as it would be dangerous for the workers. The other technologies helped farmers in harvesting and the technologies helped them by they no longer have to work hard in order to grow crops. Now the farmers could grow a lot of crops in less time. So the technological innovations during the Gilded age really helped out the American society and economy, as people used them.
