apr 19, 1775 - Battle of Lexington & Concord

[April 19th, 1775]

Beginning of the American Revolution

Lexington: 70 colony soldiers VS 700 British soldiers
- goal: try and stop the British from destroying the battle supplies in Concord
- failed in the goal, but was able to delay them

During the Lexington Battle, the other men moved the battle supplies somewhere else.

British managed to get pass by the Lexington men -> Battle of Concord

Battle of Concord:
- British fought against prepared American soldiers
- British couldn't find their battle supplies
- Americans defeat the British -> British were forced to retreat back to Boston

On the way back to Boston, the British also faced ambushes from other colonists.

Effects:
- showed that America could stand up against British forces
