Description:

Hengist and Horsa, commanders of a Saxon foederati band, arrive on Thanet at the invitiation of Vortigern, to contend with the Picts. They arrive with three longships. They find the Saxons aready there low on supplies. Negotiating with Vortigern, Vortigern grants them the realm of Kent in exchange for Hengist's daughter, Rowena. Vortigern makes this deal without informing the local king, Guoyrancgonus. this decision causes division among the Council, whose loudest voice was Ambrosius.
