Description:

The first ever MMO game created was Ultima Online in 1997. It was an online multiplayer RPG where players could essentially create their own adventures through classes, quests and dungeons. The most influential MMO however was created just 4 years after. Runescape, the most popular MMO of the 2000s was similar to Ultima Online but expanded on the concept and was one of the few games of its time to have a subscription model rather than a fixed price tag.
