In Janyrary of 1990 the Reston Primate Quarantine Unit had a second outbreak. However, this time around, the Army and the CDC decided to wash their hands of it and allow the illness to run its course. They did this because of the non-human severity of it the first time around. Because of this, every employee tested positive for Ebola Zaire. The odd thing however, not one of them displayed any symptoms. Because of this, the illness was dubbed Ebola Reston. It is still unknown where this disease originated and how it came to be.
