On June 11th 2000, Nintendo released the Game Boy Advance, the 6th console in the Game Boy family. The GBA was quite a step forward compared to the previous consoles in the family, having a horizontal screen rather than a vertical one, which gave it a more ergonomic design. As well as this, the GBA allowed for 15 hours of play time, which is more than any other Nintendo console to date. The Game Boy Advance was one of the more successful in the Game Boy line, selling 81.51 million units as of today.
