Just a year after the release of the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo released the Wii U, expecting it to surpass the Nintendo Wii, which is currently the 7th best selling console of all time, sitting at 101.63 million sales. Unfortunately for Nintendo, the Wii U went on to be Nintendo's worst selling console ever, only selling 13.56 million units. Nintendo states that the Wii U failed for various reasons, despite having a good vision for a new home console.
