First Sino-Japanese War 1894-1895 A long series of events, primarily over Japan's interference in Korean affairs but also including assassinations, bans on Japanese imports in China, and other issues, causing increasing tensions between Japan and the Qing Dynasty of China. Granted Korea full independence from China. Gave Taiwan & Liaodong Peninsula to Japan. China had to pay a large indemnity to Japan (25 jul 1894 año – 17 abr 1895 año)
