29 jun 1637 año - The Dutch in Slave Trade
Descripción:
Dutch traders began participating in the slave trade regularly. Before the entry of the Dutch into the trade, it was only Brazilian, Spanish, and Portuguese traders who made regular voyages to Africa to get slaves. During the same period, the British started introducing slave labor on a large scale to be used in the plantations in the British Caribbean territories. Furthermore, because of the increasing popularity of the slave labor, the competition among the colonies increased. The Dutch, for instance, seized El Mina from Portugal and also seized a portion of Angola from the country to have enough slaves to supply to the Northern Brazil region( Image: https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-cape-town-the-dutch-ship-africa-in-table-bay-off-the-mainland-with-56962338.html)
