Kit Coleman was the first Canadian women to be in charge of her own column in the newspaper, to say "women aren't only about fashion". This took place in Toronto, Canada. She pursued journalism and did it between 1880-1890. Kit Coleman was also a journalist war correspondent. This is important in Canadian history because she stood up for women, that women are more then only fashion.
