Prohibition was nation wide in the U.S.A from 1920 to 1933. It was the ban of drinking, making and importing alcohol. In Canada "Rum-Runners" would make and distribute alcohol to "Speakeasies" secret bars all around the USA. My great-great uncle Dalton LaRose. He and his brother transported alcohol from Ontario to New York city. Prohibition is important to Canadian history because it put Canada on the map to the USA, it was the people who were making the alcohol in Canada that made the USA very very happy. (and very very drunk)
