Created Leninism which was his own twist on Marxism which is just communism.
WWI started and soon people lost their faith in Tsar Nicholas. Lenin decided to seize this opportunity and take control.
In 1917, Lenin and others who followed him stormed the palace and seized control of the government.
Leader of Bolshevik party which later became Communist Party.
Lenin was the first leader of the Soviet Union.
Exited war by signing peace treaty.
This seize of power caused a 3-year civil war. His requisition of grain surplus' from peasants backfired; industrial and agricultural output plummeted, five million Russians died of famine, and living standards across Russia plunged into poverty.
Lenin's Red army won the civil war and created the USSR with neighboring countries.
Created secret police.
Caused the Red Terror; secret police mass executed the people who didn't support Lenin's communist party.
