On august 13, 2004 hurricane Charley (an estimated category 4 hurricane) swept through the area of Punta Gorda Florida causing tons of damage and devastating the people and the land. This was significant because just like a lot of bad storms this put tons of people without resources that they needed (like food and water) and their homes and personal possesions that they valued.
