After Tom's murder Anna and Rachel together make up a story of how Rachel had no choice but to stab Tom in the neck with a corkscrew and Anna did her best to save him in reality Anna came out and twisted the corkscrew in further. They both lied in the face of the police conspiring together in their story they told.
