The Boston tea party, which took place on December 16, 1773, was a political demonstration led by Boston's Sons of Liberty. The demonstrators, disguised as Indians, Tibetan into a merchant ship and poured a whole boat of tea from the East India company into the bay of Boston, in defiance of the tea tax act of 1773.
