Beschreibung:
All Dakota except those who actively helped the US government against the Dakota who fought; were imprisoned in a concentration camp on the river banks by fort snelling. Nearly 300 of them die that winter from sickness, hunger, and and attacks by civilians and soldiers.
*note the internment lasted from Nov. 1862 to Spring 1863*
