Dr. James Naismith is a Canadian who invented Basketball in December 21, 1891. He got the idea of basketball because when he was young, he played a game with his friends. The game was to throw the soccer ball in the basket while someone defends him. He started a basketball program in University of Kansas and found out that it was very chaotic and rough so he had to make some rules to make the game safe and fair. Without basketball there will be no shoes like Jordans, Kobes, LeBrons e.t.c. Basketball is important to Canada because lots of people who support the Toronto Raptors gets inspired from the players and try to follow their footsteps.
