Count Raymond III of Tripoli acted as Regent. He was the best hope for the Kingdom but he had many enemies within the Franks. His regency ended in 1176 when Baldwin IV turned 15 and he returned to Tripoli. Baldwin turned to renewing ties with Byzantium to attack Egypt.
