July 8th the Dow bottomed out at 41.22 -this was a 90% slide from Sept 1929 (it's pre-crash high). -Hoovervilles sprout up all over the country -shotty towns for the homeless and unemployed that became known as Hoovervilles because Americans believed Hoover's economic policies were to blame.
