172,000 injured.
War measures act was unfair.
More than 8500 were in isolation at internment camps.
Immigrants from Germany and Austro-Hungarian Empire had to carry ID cards.
Military service act made enlistment mandatory.
It divided English and French Canadians.
In Halifax, a French vessel carrying over 2500 tonnes of explosives was hit.
The explosion devastated Halifax's harbour and levelled most of the city.
Many left homeless, 2000+ killed, 9000 injured.
