PRI lost the presidential elections in Mexico after 70 years of power. The presidential elections in 2000 were won by the National Action Party (PAN), and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) lost for first time in history. Vicente Fox became in the first president who wasn’t part of the PRI. This was historic for all the country, because of all the time that PRI had governed, and also it is a demonstration of the tiredness of the ,mexican society.
