16 St. 53 Min, 18 Jun 1860 Jahr - 2nd Democratic Convention
Beschreibung:
On June 18, 1860 in Baltimore, Maryland for the second time the Democratic Convention was held. The Southerners walked out in disgust, like the did during the first convention, because of Stephen Douglas’s views on slavery. Since there were enough delegates left behind, he was nominated as the first democratic candidate. The three way split of the democratic party made it easier for Lincoln to win the presidential election of 1860.
