*Finally, one of the most important compromises that came out of the constitutional convention was the separation of powers.* The separation of powers was split into three branches. These three branches were the legislative, the executive, and the judicial. The legislative branch was made up of the senate and the house of representatives. The executive branch was whoever the president was. And finally, the judicial branch was made up of state courts and the Supreme Court. Key Concept 3.2, II.
