On this date, Japanese bombers flew over Oahu, Hawaii and hit the United States in a surprise bombing in a surpirse attack. The attack killed 2,403 and wounded 1,178 service and military members. They sank and or destroyed 6 US ships and 169 US planes. The result of the Pearl Harbor bombing was that the US had finally decalred war on Japan and therefore entered the war.
